DJI drones with remote ID – overview of all models (May 2024)

Dimitri Wolf Von Dimitri Wolf 1 Min. Lesen

In the following overview you will find all DJI drones that are already equipped with the Remote ID function and thus fulfil the legal requirements in the EU.

Which DJI drones have Remote ID?

The following list only includes DJI drones that support Remote ID according to the European standard and officially communicated by DJI. Remote ID functionalities are also available for the USA and Japan. However, these models are explicitly not listed here as they are not relevant for the European market.

Consumer drones with Remote ID

Industrial drones with remote ID

  • M30/M30T Dock
  • M30/M30T
  • M350
  • M3 E/T/M

What is the Remote ID?

The Remote ID is used for the remote identification of drones and can be understood as a kind of “digital licence plate”. Drone operators (difference between drone operator and drone pilot) must enter their e-ID in the remote ID function of the respective drone. The drone can then be identified remotely using the appropriate receiver devices.

Is the remote ID mandatory?

The remote ID has been mandatory in the EU since 1 January 2024. Since this date, no drones may be sold without this function.

Exceptions are drones in the open category C0 such as the DJI Mini 4 Pro and drones in class C4, existing drones or self-built drones < 25 kg, provided they are flown in the A3 category, and existing drones or self-built drones < 250 g in the A1/A3 category.

Can remote ID be retrofitted?

Your drone is not on the list? No problem. The Remote ID function for drones can be retrofitted regardless of the manufacturer. Appropriate additional devices can be used for this. These are attached to the drone and work independently of it. Information on approved modules can be found on the EASA website.
