Alle Informationen zum neuen DJI Air 2S Firmware Update

Thanks to a previously announced firmware update, the DJI Air 2S now has the option of a C1 label. Here are the details of the update and the process.

As already introduced in the past for other DJI drones, the DJI Air 2S (product page) is now also receiving the C1 label thanks to a firmware update. This allows the Air 2S, which is currently considered a stock drone, to be “converted” into a drone with a drone class, which leads to considerable simplification and more flexibility when operating in the Open category.

How do you get the C1 label for the Air 2S?

The procedure for obtaining the C1 label for the Air 2S is very similar to the procedure for the Mavic 3 drone. At this point, we therefore refer you to the existing instructions. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us in our forum (see below).

What are the advantages of the C1 label?

Since 1 January 2024, drones without the Cx label have been subject to stricter requirements for operation in the Open category. For the Air 2S, this means that operation is only possible in sub-category A3 without an operating licence.

However, the option of post-certification means that the drone can once again be operated in all sub-categories of the Open category – including A1 and therefore, for example, in residential areas and close to people. This makes the use of the Air 2S much more flexible again!
