After a successful crowdfunding campaign, sales of the HOVERAir X1 drone by ZeroZero Robotics are now starting. We present the product briefly.
Apart from the well-known brands such as DJI, Autel Robotics or Skydio, new names keep appearing on the drone scene. Quite often, these are manufacturers of niche products that are not necessarily in direct competition with the established brands and their models, but want to serve a specific target group.
This is also the case with the HOVERAir X1 from ZeroZero Robotics.
HOVERAir X1
The drone is a very lightweight model, weighing only 125 grams. The main focus is on the lack of controls and the automatic flight modes, which can be started by a simple tap in the accompanying app. The drone is supposed to be able to take off and land particularly quickly (3 seconds) in order to be ready for action quickly. With a maximum flight time of 11 minutes, this is certainly necessary.
The drone offers the following modes:
- Hover: the drone picks you up from a static position and is perfect for hands-free selfies or group photos.
- Follow: The drone follows you from the front or rear at speeds of up to 20 km/h. Computer vision algorithms keep you centred in the frame.
- Zoom Out: Gradually magnifies the surroundings for a dramatic effect – ideal for capturing the mood at parties, camping or barbecues in the garden.
- Orbit: The drone circles around you to show you a location or object, such as your new house, car or even a new puppy!
- Bird’s Eye: With just one click, you can take bird’s eye shots and see what even the most intricate moments look like.

Target group
The drone is thus aimed less at highly professional users and much more as a small and affordable alternative for simple shots of inexperienced people or as a small addition to one’s own drone fleet when it may also be simple shots from time to time. The drone is said to be particularly suitable for varied recordings for social media.
Availability and price
At the moment, the drone is only available on Amazon’s US site at a price of $479. Currently, the drone can be purchased with a discount of $100, which is currently $379. It is not yet known if and when the drone will come to Europe and also to Germany.
